Succulent Care

We are so thrilled that our customers love their succulents, whether they have their own garden which they created at a Workshop, or a Succulent Vertical Garden purchased from Jenny in her shop. It is so important that you then provide the best conditions for your plants to thrive.

Water

Succulents do not need much water.

We have all grown up believing that propagation requires water. We recall the teacher at school growing beans in cottonwool showing us that the beans will grow only if they have water.

Succulents are not like other plants. They are so intent on keeping water out of their stems when you cut them, that they grow a callus to prevent water from entering the stem. This is why they will frequently rot if you do not wait the 3 days or more for the callus to form when planting a succulent cutting. Once roots appear on your succulent it needs regular watering when the soil dries out.

We advise our customers not to water their new Succulent Gardens for a week and then only when the soil is dry.

Light

Wherever you plant your succulent, it will seek out the light. It will really struggle to survive if there is insufficient light. You will see it stretch, shrivel, and turn toward light. It will also lose its colour.

Shipping and Returns

All living plants are sent express post.

They are sent early in the week so they are not held up in the post over the weekend.

Because it takes 2-3 hours to make a Succulent Vertical Garden, Jenny tries to keep up but sometimes there is a backlog. If you need your order by a specific date for a birthday or anniversary, let Jenny know your deadline and she will always do her best to get the parcel away in time.

Speaking of parcels, Jenny has developed a 99% failsafe way of packing your garden so the plants are protected en route.

We can not refund gardens which have suffered from too much water or insufficient light.

Wholesale Inquiries

We are happy to discuss bulk purchase of our metal planters. These planters are made to our specifications. They are metal. The benefits of metal include the fact that they are light and also that they do not leak onto the wall.

Contact Jenny if you are interested in just the planters, or the DIY Kits which contain wires for the grid, weed mat, sphagnum moss and a detailed guide on making the vertical garden..
