Our Story
NZ artist, Jenny Ayling, has moved from paints to plants to create her works of art. Now settled into the beautiful lakes and beaches of Australia's Central Coast, Jenny is loving working with the colours and textures of succulents.

Starting with a 30cm planter with a grid and about 30 plants, Jenny fills the planter with soil then, using tweezers, plants the living plants using their varied colours and textures to develop a very unique painting.
​
Jenny is happy to create a unique living picture just for you, or she will provide a kit containing all you need to develop your own work your own way.
​
Our workshops are a fun way for you to learn to make these gardens yourself using the tricks and techniques Jenny has developed over the past ten years.
And if you love succulents then visit our framed art shop for a selection of beautiful framed prints for your wall or to give as a gift. These are unique designs created exclusively by artofsucculents.

We are currently trying to sell our house and in an attempt to brighten the place up, hung three of Jenny's beautiful vertical gardens up on a wall and it has changed the entire room.
What was once a boring old room with a dining table has now been lit up with three beautiful, green living pictures and I can't help but look at them every time I walk by!
